The Trustees are so excited to present a photo Exhibition at the Mahara Gallery in Waikanae. Shown for the first time in New Zealand are photographs taken by the children of the Karuani Illam Children's Home - our children. With the help of Mo Greig, a London based Kiwi photographer , these children express their creativity and show us (the adults) how they see their world through a camera lens. 

Our fundraising dinner was so popular two years ago that we have been asked to do it again! Delicious Authentic Indian vegetarian Meal & Sweets.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Afternoon Tea and Movie in May. It was a great afternoon enjoyed by all and fantastic to introduce new supporters to Jean's fabulous Children's Home. We hope to continue her legacy with all your help.

The nursery/primary school started on the premises of the old hostel building has completed 10 years! Starting with just a few children, the school roll now boasts 331 children and well over a dozen teachers and staff. A promotional stall was held at the Wellington Diwali Festival event on 26 October. Many thanks to the helpers in the picture (R-L: Rieko, Nithya, Vidthia, Sharmila). We had a number of other regular supporters assisting us on the day to take turns running the stall, these included Ray & Geraldine, Beth, Naena & Ray, Bhagee and Pravin.
