Jean Watson 10th year anniversary!

Ten years ago to this day, Jean Watson passed away in Wellington. The Karunai Illam home she created for children in southern Tamil Nadu continues to flourish and support children in need. While she is no longer with us, her amazing persona and lasting legacy continue to inspire many of us.

During this special year, the Karunai Illam Trust and its supporters in New Zealand and worldwide have accomplished much to support the Illam. We had the visit of a DHAN leader, Mr Ragi, a repeat of the women’s recycled clothes sale, an art show and sale that included the work of two trustee artists, and the release and sales of a fantastic vegetarian cookbook called ‘Suvai’, leading to a second print run!
