Setting the direction for the new year

An important  day in the KIT Trustees calendar is our annual strategy and planning session.  Held at the start of the year, the Trustees get together to reflect on the year just gone and set the direction and focus for the rest of the year.  The day is always a great way for the trustees to connect together, have some fun and share good food.  This year was no different.

What were some of the things we covered in the day?  Connecting with our supporters is important to us.  We regularly share news about the Illam and our fundraising activities through social media and our newsletters.  We are keen to know there is more you would like to know from us so will trial gathering your views.

We were fortunate to have Marjolaine from Ignite consultants join our meeting to talk about the work that Ignite does and to discuss the opportunities for them t o support KIT this year.

Fundraising for the year is always a key discussion  We have a number of exciting events to share with our community this year so keep an eye out on the newsletters and social media for more details.

VUW Volunteers

Since 2025, we have had productive engagements with the Victoria University of Wellington and its student community. In continuation of this engagement, during 2026 the student led Ignite Consultants group will be working on a number of volunteering projects to support KIT especially with its communications and outreach.

Jersey School Visit

A girls’ school in Jersey, an UK dependency island state, is in touch with KIT about organising a school educational trip to the Illam. We are facilitating this trip for early 2027 and will be great if this happens for widening our international support base.

Tax Receipts Mailout

The 2025-26 Tax year has just finished. This means you can expect to have your tax receipts coming soon and no later than early May 2026. Our Treasurer is working hard to send them your way!
