Exciting things are happening at our Illam! - Campus Development Update
We are so happy to share that our long-standing friendship with the French team from the Centre Val De Loire Region (A.S.I.E) has led to a brand-new housing project. Since 2009, A.S.I.E has been supporting DHAN, and now they’ve approved the construction of three new foster homes using innovative, low-cost building technology.
The homes will be built next to the Jean Watson cottage — a safe and peaceful spot surrounded by a secure compound wall. Two talented architects, have designed the plans with valuable input from our children and the DHAN construction team. A virtual meeting with DHAN Foundation and A.S.I.E. France members on August 6 helped finalise the initial arrangements.
Meanwhile, our plans for the DHAN Karunai Illam Higher Secondary School are also moving forward. We’ve submitted all documents to the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), following their site visit and request for additional details. The Joint Director of Agriculture, Dindigul, also reviewed the site and provided the necessary documentation. We’re now eagerly awaiting the final approval so we can begin the next phase of this exciting development!
